Presenting the Arc of Learning

If you have been teaching for a while, you have no doubt seen and most likely used a curriculum consisting of scripted lessons and thematic units with more resources than you could possibly make time for in your school day.

The arc of learning is not that.

We recognize that Active Learning and Competency Based Practitioners (teachers, coordinators and administration) are knowledgeable, capable and creative in working with the skills necessary to:

  • design their own lesson plans,
  • meet student academic needs while teaching them to be curious about the world around them,
  • guide students in developing habits of success and 21st century skills,
  • inspire students to be lifelong learners.

The arc of learning guide is a structure co-developed with Pleasant View School District, used to help transform traditional education into Life Readiness Learning by developing projects infused with standards and skills.
