Pleasant View Elementary School District

Transforming a rural public school into an innovative global model involved the co-creation of an Arc of Learning – incorporating collaborative practices, redesigned curriculum, and leadership training for active learning.
It also included adopting Project-Based Learning for financial literacy, along with assessments and cross-curricular projects, all aimed at achieving self efficacy for real-life readiness education.

Context

The District – situated in Porterville (Tulare, CA) – identified the need to introduce real life skills into early age pedagogical best practices to create positive transformational impact in the region.

The UN 2030 17 SDGs were added to the curriculum design, with FINANCIAL LITERACY as the overarching theme.

The project centers around 5 SDGs, evening out equitable opportunites for the predominantely LatinX community.
